Steve Mitchell says he has devoted his career to "the sounds of silence."
Mitchell is one of the founding owners of Noise Barriers, based in Libertyville and specializing in architectural and industrial noise control in Chicagoland and around the country.
The walls that line Midway Airport's runways along Cicero Avenue were created by Mitchell's team as were the insulated layers that nestle the massive printing presses at the Chicago Tribune's Freedom Center downtown.
