QuietMod & QuietLine at St Maarten Resort in the Caribbean
Don't think of Noise Barriers (NBL) as just another materials supplier. We partner with you to develop the right solution to solve your client's most demanding noise control issues and tight schedules. "Hear" is an example:
QuietMod Enclosure and QuietLine Barrier System
The Problem: The client is a resort on St Maarten in the Caribbean. The client had a noise ordinance violation that would start accumulating daily fines for being out of compliance. The client had an accelerated construction timeline.
The Project Parameters: Provide sound control systems for the two standby generators and two cooling towers. Provide systems that could handle the harsh weather conditions, design for Hurricane wind loads, be practically maintenance free and blend into the resort environment. Solutions must achieve night time ambient noise levels 50' from the noise source (at the property line) of 55 dB (A) or below.
The NBL Solution: With the involvement of Rick Seitz with Acoustical Systems, Inc. a two phase solution was developed. Provide a QuietMod enclosure system for the Gensets that was convection vented (forced ventilation system not allowed), allow for the possible removal of a Generator and achieve the required 25-30 dB reduction in the 63-500 Hz Octave Bands to meet the noise criteria. Secondly, provide a QuietLine barrier system and discharge "hood" system for the cooling towers that would have negligible pressure drop and also achieve the required 15-20 dB reduction in the full range of Octave Bands to meet the noise criteria. Starting October 15th, NBL had to designed, manufacture, ship 9 containers to St. Maarten, and installed everything with 3 months.
The Results: The combined systems resulted in a nighttime sound reading at or below ambient only 50' from the Generators. The project was completed and commissioned within the 3 month time frame allotted. The Generator and cooling tower suppliers verified that there is no impact on the performance of the equipment due to air flow restrictions. The greatest achievement for the team was hearing from the nearby residents. They stated they can hear the surf again for the first time in 5 years! A very satisfied customer.
Noise Barriers installed two QuietSlide power sliding STC 51 doors in tandem to guarantee the performance of the project.
The Dave Ramsey Show had a need for a custom broadcast studio that be viewable from the adjacent Baker Street Coffee shop.
PriceSmart Wholesale Clubs made the decision to offer hearing and vision screenings in several locations across Guatemala. QuietTest Audiometric Enclosures met the demands of the project both in terms of achievable results and efficient delivery times.
Court Square Recordings, located in the heart of downtown Memphis, Tennessee, is home to both a recording studio and coffee shop.
Noise Barrier Walls were the perfect solution for high noise levels on the 9th floor mezzanine of a busy Mid-Town building.
