Court Square Recording Studio - Memphis, Tennessee

The Problem

Court Square Recordings, located in the heart of downtown Memphis, Tennessee, is home to both a recording studio and coffee shop. With such varied ventures, a clear divide was required to separate the spaces. The solution needed to make a visual statement while also effectively blocking any sound from escaping from the studio to the coffee shop, and vice versa.

The Project Parameters:

The front-end coffee shop needed to be isolated from the back-end recording studio. The barrier had to be aesthetically-pleasing while maintaining its acoustic performance. The customer also desired a viewing glass to showcase the studio to the coffee shop patrons stopping in for their morning brew.

The Noise Barriers Solution:

The Noise Barriers team determined that the Alexis Door would be the most ideal solution for Court Square’s needs. The hinges are concealed, leaving the face of the door looking visually appealing and clean. Two (2) QuietSlide sliding glass doors were also provided in tandem to allow a full 6’x7’ view straight into the acoustical space.

The Results:

The recording studio is successfully isolated from the coffee shop, allowing artists and patrons alike to enjoy the spaces without sound transmission from one another.

The Bottom Line:

Noise Barriers wide array of products can be mixed and matched to provide custom solutions given any requirements. Though we specialize in architectural and industrial applications, we can enhance private, locally owned businesses as well, with acoustical, not to mention beautiful, results!
